Day 5 - Church and Beach

Today was a relaxing evening.  We decided to take Sunday off and enjoy Hawaii better.

Day 6 -  Worked all day at and around the church

We worked around the church properties.  You will see golf course in the background.  If you do not know, the golf course was purchased by the church for 4.5 million and was originally 15 million.   They want to use this property for multiple reasons. Currently it is still being used as a golf course and a church.  The church wants to expand its usage in other areas.

We are in the process of revitalizing the large pond.  This pond is used as a tool to teach environmental preservation.  It is educational first but the ministry is also using it to bring schools and other organizations on the ministry's campus to talk about the creator of this ecosystem.  The algae that we are removing is used for fertilizer for local farmer.

This was the garden we just got done reworking so that the school can use it for the cafeteria.

The men are working on constructing a chicken coop for the school.  Eggs are expensive (along with everything else).  This will help reduce the costs for the school.

Hawaii - Day 1 - We made it!

We made it!  Sorry but there will be no pictures until tomorrow.

The trip was long but now that we are here it has been worth it.  We are staying at a Cabana (pictures later).  The living conditions are nicer than what I was expecting.  Basically we are living in a 1 to 2 star hotel room without a bathroom in it.  The bathrooms are located at the end of the building.

Our contacts here in Hawaii are extremely kind.  We went over to their school for dinner. They made us a nice Mexican meal last night around 8 pm Hawaii time.

More later...
